County fifth graders treated to 'Conservation Field Day' at RHSP

SUMNER - Lawrence County fifth graders participated in a Conservation Field Day at Red Hills State Park on Wednesday. The University of Illinois Extension hosted the day's events from about 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., during which youth rotated through eight hands-on sessions about conservation.

Bridgeport Grade School students take part in Earth Day art contest

BRIDGEPORT - The kindergarten through third grade students who attend Bridgeport Grade School don't have art class, but they have plenty of artistic ability.

Red Hill, Lawrenceville finish second, third in boys meet at Lawrenceville on Wednesday

LAWRENCEVILLE - On Wednesday evening, Lawrenceville High School's boys and girls track and field teams hosted its first home meet of the season. Those in attendance included Robinson, Vincennes-Rivet, Oblong, Palestine-Hutsonville and the Red Hill Salukis. Robinson would go on to win the girls meet convincingly while Pal-Hut would take home first place in the boys meet.
