Ceremony to honor soldier killed in Afghanistan set for Thursday
LAWRENCEVILLE - A brief ceremony to honor local soldier, Army Spc. Trevor Pinnick, is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, at the start of the monthly Lawrenceville City Council meeting.

Pinnick was killed in action in Afghanistan on June 12. The 2010 Lawrenceville High School graduate died of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked their unit with an improvised explosive devise.

State Rep. Brad Halbrook will be joined by representatives from U.S. Rep. John Shinku's and U.S. Rep. Tim Johnson's offices. Lawrenceville Mayor Brian Straub, Robinson Mayor Roger Pethtel, and the VFW color guard will also be in attendance.

Halbrook said he is inviting Lawrenceville and area residents to attend the ceremony, which will be in the Lawrenceville Civic Center, 700 East State Street.
