Lawrence County Farm Bureau honored at state convention
CHICAGO - The Lawrence County Farm Bureau was recognized for its achievements during the 98th annual meeting of the Illinois Farm Bureau held in Chicago in early December.

A member of membership group 1, Lawrence County received Gold in Membership Quota, Silver in Health and Safety and Policy Development, and Bronze in Ag Literacy, Local Affairs, Communication and Promotion, and Member Relations.

Lawrence County Farm Bureau also received an award for a "Most Outstanding Project" in Ag Literacy for Membership Group 1. This award was earned by the Green Eggs and Agriculture program that is held annually throughout the county.

Lawrence County Farm Bureau Young Leaders have once again won the "Harvest for All" contest for membership group 1.

The Harvest for All campaign is a partnership that was developed to provide a vehicle for farmers to donate food and funds to hunger-relief organizations while empowering people to share the bounty produced on domestic farms and ranches. While members of the Farm Bureau are familiar with hunger in their own rural communities, they know that they can help end hunger in America.

The Feeding America Network distributes food to more than 37 million Americans each year through 61,000 local charitable agencies in nearly every county of the United States.

Through "Harvest for All," the Farm Bureau's network of member families can make a major contribution to ending hunger in America.
