OCC music department winter concert Feb. 22-23
OLNEY - The Olney Central College Music Department will present its Winter Concert at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 22 and Feb. 23 in the Dr. John D. Stull Performing Arts Center.

The concert will feature the OCC Concert Band, Concert Choir and Jazz Ensemble.

The OCC Concert Band will present "Fire!" by Gary P. Gilroy, and "Three Ayres from Gloucester" by Hugh M. Stuart.  This piece is composed in early English folk song style, and brings about images of rural life in medieval England.

The OCC Concert Choir will present a wide variety of sacred music from 13th Century plainchant, to the traditional folk hymn "Wondrous Love," "All Earth Rejoice" of Vivaldi; as well as folk music and a hint of Broadway.

The OCC Jazz Ensemble will present a program of song and dance, featuring the exciting Duke Ellington tune "C-Jam Blues," the Latin-inspired "Malaguena," and an opportunity for the audience to join in the fun as they sing along with "Minnie the Moocher."

Admission is $5, and tickets are available at the door, or from any ensemble member.
