Online poll: No to proposed state minimum wage increase
LAWRENCEVILLE - Daily Record online readers, on Feb. 25, were asked to give an opinion via a readership poll.

The question was: "Regarding the debate about Senate Bill 1565, should the minimum wage of $8.25 per hour be increased?

A total of 105 people responded with 57 (54 percent) voting no and 44 (42 percent) voting yes. Four people said they didn't care. The poll ran for 12 days.

An increase would benefit workers, especially those who receive tips as part of their job. One con to the proposal would be that small businesses would struggle because of an increase in labor costs.
