Consolidated election Tuesday
Lawrence County voters will vote on a variety of races Tuesday, from mayor to school board to township officials, and more.

The polls will be open from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. at 27 precincts.

More than 125 residents are seeking office.

The following people are seeking seats in the April election.

City of Bridgeport

Brad Purcell is the lone candidate for mayor. Current mayor Max Schauf is not seeking re-election.

Lori A. (Hipsher) Thacker is running for city clerk and Sara B. Sechrest is running for treasurer.

Three people are running for alderman in Ward 1: David Hammel, James W. Hamilton and Robin Wirth. Ldora Laughlin is the lone Ward 2 candidate while Tyler J. Griffin is the only candidate in Ward 3.

City of Lawrenceville

Don Wagner, Ed Brumley and Brian Straub are all seeking the mayor's seat. Straub is the incumbent.

For city clerk, Janice Laslie and James Rodney Nolan are candidates. Wagner is the current city clerk.

Wendell Stevens is the only candidate running for the open Ward 1 seat while incumbent John R. Waldrop is the only candidate running for the Ward 2 seat.

In Ward 3, David M. Courtney and Don Goff are vying for the Ward 3 seat. In Ward 4, Janice Holcomb is the only candidate.

Village of Russellville

Heather Blasingame is running for mayor, Betty Shultz for village clerk and J. D. Timms, John Pierson and Julie Harrington for aldermen.

City of St. Francisville

Incumbent mayor Stanley B. Williams is seeking re-election. He faces opposition from Donald R. Ravellette.

Jeffrey J. Tussey is the only candidate for treasurer and Terri Lynn Wease is the lone city clerk candidate. Both are incumbents.

Jamie L. Tussey is running for a Ward 1 seat, David A. Deckard is a candidate for a Ward 2 seat and Carolyn S. Hoh and Anthony K. Moyes are running for the two Ward 3 seats.

City of Sumner

Gary W. Hutchinson is running for mayor. Current mayor Larry Stoltz is not seeking re-election.

There are no candidates for the city clerk position or the city treasurer spot.

For alderman, incumbent Brent Perrott is seeking the Ward 1 seat opening, Joseph Lynn Fleming is a candidate in Ward 2 and Winston Howard is a candidate for the Ward 3 seat.

James Binkley is an official write-in candidate for the Ward 1 seat.

Red Hill CUSD 10

There are five candidate for seats on the Red Hill Unit 10 school board. On the ballot are: Ashley Ryan, Roger Kissen, Dixie Purcell, Bob Christy and Jim Legg.

Kissen, Christy and Legg are current board members.

Rex Moan is a write-in candidate for the Red Hill school board.

CUSD 20 school board

Only two candidates have filed for the three open seats on the Community Unit School District 20 school board.

Incumbents Andy Shick, District 6, and Shane E. Gray, District 7, are seeking re-election.

There is no candidate on the ballot for the District 3 seat, however, Ashley Benson has filed as a write-in candidate.

Lawrence Public Library

On the ballot for trustees for Lawrence Public Library are: Susan D. Moore, James Michael Neal, Don B. Waggoner, and Marilyn Wagner.

Township Park Districts

There are two seats open for commissioner for the Lawrence Township Park District, however no one has filed for the seats.

In the Lanterman Park District, in Bridgeport, Gary Wells is the only candidate.

Allison Township

Keith Kocher is running for supervisor while Brenda Weiler is on the ballot for the clerk position.

Running for township trustees are: Patrick Weiler, Phyllis Kocher, Anne Horrall, Bill Kocher and Bonnie J. Kocher.

Darryle Robinson is a candidate for Allison Township Road Commissioner.

Russell Township

Gary Decker is the only candidate on the ballot for supervisor and Marjorie Painter is the only candidate for township clerk.

For Russell Township Highway Commissioner, Keith Fisher, Richard M. Churchwell and Gabe Foreman are all on the ballot.

Running for township trustees are: Amber O'Dell, Sue C. Gerhart, Elzie Aldridge Jr., Alan Thompson and Joe Weger.

Petty Township

Gerald "Jess" Angle is the only candidate for supervisor and Bryan Angle is the lone candidate for Petty Township Road Commissioner. For township clerk, Julie Perrott is the only candidate.

Four candidates are on the ballot for township trustees: Aaron Ferguson, Jim Legg, Jim Rosborough and Shane Thacker.

Lukin Township

Diana Floyd is a candidate for supervisor while Dinah Jackman is only candidate for clerk.

Larry R. Jackman is the only candidate on the ballot for Lukin Township Road Commissioner, however, William Gunzel is a write-in candidate for the position.

Running for township trustees are: Robert W. Ulrich, Jeff Correll, Chris M. Jackman and Jay Dee White.

David M. Burgett Jr. is the only candidate for multi-township assessor for Lukin and Christy.

Lawrence Township

Kimberly Yost Winningham and Becky Piper are both running for Lawrence Township Supervisor.

For township road commissioner, Bill Shick and David Mefford are each on the ballot.

Greg Lewis is running for township clerk and Chris Winkles is on the ballot for township assessor.

On the ballot for Lawrence Township Trustee are: Roger Orr, Plomer Barnes, Jenny Shick Chapman, Tony Fiscus, Bruce Morey and Don. R. Myers.

Denison Township

Charles Burns is the only candidate for supervisor and Bennie Siegle is the lone Township Road Commissioner candidate. Julie Ivers is the only candidate for township clerk.

Candidates for township trustee are: John R. Clark, Michael Floyd, Greg Leighty, Matthew Paddick, Dora Glenn, Alfred J. Mushrush, Sandra P. Smith and Rita Sue Tillotson.

Christy Township

Karen Ulrich is the only candidate on the ballot for supervisor. For Township Road Commissioner, Charles Roark is the only person on the ballot.

For township clerk, Bonnie Hann and Jenny Roark are candidates.

Running for township trustee are: Russell Adams, Deon Ulrich, Dave Ulrich, Stephanie Roark and Rex Moan.

Bridgeport Township

For Bridgeport Township Supervisor, Gary A. Huber is the lone candidate. Stevan J. Moore and Willard (Woody) R. Rousey Jr. are both candidates for road commissioner.

Township clerk candidates are: Lisa Lemeron and Thomas Daniel Stanescu.

Candidates for township trustee are: Mark A. Puntney, Billy Gray, Donald H. Heath, Justin W. Scherer, Rita Rousey and Penny Cooper.

Bond Township

Joyce Wesley is the only candidate for supervisor and Robert D. Angle is the only Highway Commissioner-District 1 candidate.

On the ballot for township clerk are: Billie Taylor and Cynthia A. Hays-Morris.

Candidates for township trustee are: Byrl Taylor, James P. Gallion, Russell Morris, Gene Hays and Richard Wesley.

Virgil L. Potts is the only candidate for multi-township assessor for Petty, Bond and Russell townships.

Lawrenceville voters will also answer yes or no to a public question to adopt an "opt-out" program for the supply of electricity to residents and small commercial retail customers in the city.

The question will read: "Shall the City of Lawrenceville, Illinois, have the authority to arrange for the supply of electricity for its residential and small commerical retail customers who have no opted out of such program? Yes___ No____.
