Signup Saturday for annual Camp Girls summer camp
LAWRENCEVILLE - Sign-up for the 2013 week of Lawrence County Camp Girls summer camp will be 10 a.m. until noon Saturday at the Tepee in Lawrenceville.

Camp is June 16-22 at McCormick's Creek State Park at Spencer, Ind.

"Camp with a Friend" is the theme this year, revealed Linda Yost, camp director. "We're making a lot of plans," she said. "Especially for the out-camp where the older girls stay."

Camp is open to girls in kindergarten through high school sophomores. Older girls can be junior counselors. One need not be a member of Camp Girls to attend the camp.

Fees are $130 for kindergartners and first-graders and $150 for older girls. The older girls get to go horseback riding. Fees cover cabin rental, all meals, swimming, crafts, activities in the park, group photo, and a camp T-shirt,

A $10 registration fee is expected at sign-up. The balance is due by the first day of camp. Payments may be sent to Chris Fry, 409 20th St., Lawrenceville IL 62439.

Persons or groups wanting to make a donation to help a girl go to camp may send money to Fry, also. This can be a campership for the full amount of a camper's fee or any amount to assist in general camp funds.

A new feature will allow former campers to make a donation in memory or in honor of a favorite counselor during their years at camp. The names will be read at the opening ceremony on the first day of camp. These donations also should be mailed to Fry.
