Embarras nearing flood stage
As of 7:45 a.m. today, the Embarras River at Lawrenceville was at 31.86 feet, only 1.86 feet above flood stage.

According to the National Weather Service, the river should hit flood stage at 30 feet on Saturday, before going back up to 31.7 feet and then dropping again. The Embarras had crested at 38.94 feet almost a week ago.

The Wabash River at Westport was reported at 22.35 feet at 8 a.m. today, still more than six feet above its flood stage of 16 feet. The Wabash, after cresting above 27.46 feet, is supposed to drop below flood stage on Thursday.
