Reis to hold concealed carry town hall meeting in Olney
OLNEY - State Rep. David Reis (R-Ste. Marie) will host his second of three "Concealed Carry" town hall meetings in Olney to discuss the new concealed carry law.

The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 29 at 6:30 p.m. at the Community Building at Olney City Park, along Illinois Route 130 North. The meeting is open to the public.

"We had over 130 people at our Effingham meeting. It is important citizens of the 109th District understand the rules and requirements of the newly enacted concealed carry law before licenses become available in January," Reis said.  "I am hosting these town hall meetings to answer any questions you may have to ensure that you are able to get your license as soon as possible. "

A portion of Lawrence County is in the 109th District.

The town hall meetings discuss qualifications to obtain a concealed carry license, where concealed carry is prohibited, training requirements and the implementation timeline.

For more information, contact Reis' office at (618) 392-0108 or email him at keith@davidreis.org.  To download a concealed carry brochure or a flyer for the upcoming town hall events, please visit www.davidreis.
