'Prescription Drug Take Back' Saturday at Central Christian
LAWRENCEVILLE - Organizers of "Prescription Drug Take Back" are reminding area residents that from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, they can safely dispose of unused and expired medication at a dropoff location in the parking lot of Lawrenceville Central Christian Church.

As part of Lawrence County's Red Ribbon Week efforts, the dropoff location has been established to help curb prescription drug abuse by getting unwanted and unneeded drugs out of the home.

Organizers noted that 70 percent of people who abuse prescription drugs get them from their friends and family.

There is a saying: "She gets her hair from her mom, her eyes from her dad, and her drugs from her grandma's medicine cabinet."

I-PASS, along with AmeriCorps Vista and the DEA and the Lawrenceville Police Department are hosting the event. I-Pass (Individuals Preventing the Abuse of Substances), a Lawrence County substance abuse prevention coalition, put the event together.
