Shimkus, Reis to hold joint office hours
EFFINGHAM - U.S. Rep. John Shimkus and State Rep. David Reis will be available to meet with local constituents in Richland County Wednesday.

Shimkus and Reis will be at Reis' office, 219 East Main Street, Olney, from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.

Those interested in scheduling an appointment with Shimkus and Reis Wednesday should call Shimkus' office at (217) 347-7947.  Appointments are not necessary but are helpful in keeping wait times to a minimum.

"In these sessions we will get to hear personally from people about the problems they are facing in dealing with the federal or state government or hear their positions on issues that we could be voting on," Shimkus explained.  "These are one-on-one meetings in order to give individuals privacy and allow them to speak honestly and open about their concern with us."

Reis added, "This will be a unique opportunity for area residents who want to discuss issues with both Congressman Shimkus and myself at the same time.  I look forward to hearing what is on constituents' minds."

Those unable to attend in person, may contact Shimkus by mail at 101 North Fourth Street, Suite 303, Effingham, IL 62401 or Reis at P.O. Box 189, Olney, IL 62450.

Those requiring special accommodations should call at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled office hours so that arrangements can be made.
