Rehearsals begin for LCAC's Aladdin
LAWRENCEVILLE - Rehearsals for the Lawrence County Arts Council's Spring Production are under way. 

Jan Loeb will be directing Aladdin with a cast of many talented newcomers and local favorites. 

Music rehearsals, under the direction of Daniel Shinkle and Ann Atkins, wrapped up last week and this week will begin choreography by Cyndi Hays-Morris followed by on stage rehearsals for blocking. 

This years production will be performed on two weekends with shows on Friday, April 4 at 7 p.m.; Sunday, April 6 at 2 p.m.; Friday, April 11 and Saturday, April 12 at 7 p.m.; and the final performance Sunday, April 13 at 2 p.m. 

All performances will be held in the new LHS Auditorium. 

The cast includes: Alladin, Lance Lucas; Genie, Ernest Pittman; Jafar, Austin Lang; Jasmine, D'Kota Cichon; Sultan, Jerry Skelton, Iago, Rachel Hanson; Razul, Roger Wright; Narrator 1, Jamie Cox; Narrator 2, Grant Ault; Nararator 3, Hannah Grace McVey; Baker, Kayla Miner; Townsperson, Maggie Hill; Guard 2, Sam Hanson; Matron, Sharon Alspach; Village trio, Victoria Shinkle, Megan Cooper and Lucy Hill; Shopkeepers, Gwen Hopkins, Kathy Hopkins, Graycie Sapp, Amber Newlin, and Angelica Ault.

Aladdin is a 1992 American animated musical fantasy film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and released by Walt Disney Pictures. Aladdin, a street urchin, accidentally meets Princess Jasmine, who is in the city undercover. They love each other, but she can only marry a prince.
